Master’s Course Doctor’s Course Research/Part-time Student

  Research student Part-time student
  Students conduct research under guidance of their supervisors on a specific topic. Students cannot obtain credits. Students take approved courses, sit exams, and obtain credits. The acquired credits may be approved as part of the course (up to 10 credits) upon application when enrolling as a full-time student in the future.
Number of students The number of students that would not affect the main classes and research
Class related matters 1.Upon approval from supervisors and class teaching staff, students are able to attend some of the classes relevant to their research.
2.Students must submit research papers to the head of the course (through supervisors) before the termination of the academic period.
3.Research papers are assessed at a faculty meeting. The outcome of the assessment may be certified as per request.
1.Students take approved courses, sit exams, and obtain credits. Credits acquired as a part-time student may be approved as pre-acquired credits upon application when enrolling as a full-time student in major studies of Instructional Systems. Please note that the maximum number of pre-acquired credits is 10.
2.The courses that part-time students can take are the available first semester's courses for those who start in April and the available second semester's courses for those who start in October. The courses taken after that will be determined by assessment of an application.
Academic period An academic year is one year, in principle. However, this period may be extended upon request if the student has research related matters to justify an extension. Students who apply for an extension of the academic period without discontinuing their studies on the same research topic will be exempt from the examination fee and admission fee. Please note that the examination fee and admission fee will be applicable in the case of students who change their research topics, supervisors, faculties or departments. In principle, an academic year is the year of enrollment. However, this period may be extended upon a student's request. If students apply for an extension of the academic period without discontinuation of studies as a part-time student, they will be exempt from the examination fee and admission fee.

Application information for research/part-time students

The 2014 applications for the Graduate School of Instructional Systems from research/part-time students will be accepted based upon the following schedule.

Application Period First semester enrollment (April)
Applications must be received between February 18 (Tue) and 5pm on February 19 (Wed), 2014
Second semester enrollment (October)
Applications must arrive between June 24 (Tue) and 5pm on June 25 (Wed), 2014
Selection Assessment on submitted written documents
Announcement of successful applicants Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer.
Enrollment Period First semester enrollment (April)
From March 26 (Wed) to March 27 (Thu), 2014
Second semester enrollment (October)
From September 10 (Wed) to September 11 (Thu), 2014
